Customer review for Pumpkin AA0492B for BMW 320i upgrade

Pumpkin AA0492B for my BMW 320i radio replacement

I have had the Pumpkin Navi with Android 9.0 installed in my BMW 320i Touring for about a month. I'm very satisfied!

Of course, the price is in the upper segment, but everything really fits. It always boots up in a maximum of 3-4 seconds and offers all the amenities that Android 9.0 offers. The internal memory is generous and it has two slots to expand the memory with a micro SD card. The pre-installed apps for radio, navigation, telephony, etc. do their job as they should. The hands-free system also works perfectly. I attached the microphone to the top left of the sun visor, where it is almost invisible through the black headliner.

The sound quality is impressive. My car only has the standard speakers and previously had the BMW Business CD radio installed. With the pumpkin radio, the sound comes close to the harman kardon system in terms of clarity and power. Fascinating how much you can get out of the standard boxes. The look is another plus point and 99% of people probably don't realize it's an aftermarket solution.

Two small points of criticism: During installation, a "folding adapter" is required for the radio antenna, as the radio is otherwise too long for the slot. These are available cheaply as accessories. And unfortunately, apart from Google Maps, no navigation app is pre-installed and no maps are included. So when driving, always make sure that you have internet (e.g. via a hotspot on your cell phone) or download the maps via WiFi beforehand. The Google Maps navigation is of course good as usual.

Overall, an ingenious device that brings a car built in 2001 into the technological present in one fell swoop. You should also keep in mind that the corresponding features in a new car can often cost ten times the price quoted here!
